Have you ever watched a cooking show and you always see the chiefs using a cutting board? Every time a cooking show comes on there is always a cutting board being used unless it is on kitchen nightmares and Gordon Ramsey is yelling at that individual.

Cutting boards provide a lot of value to customers and come in many different shapes, sizes and colors. Even if you are more of a crafty person, you can make one from a wood slab and get really creative. Now, like most of us we will just go online and find one that we like and go from there. Many think of this product as something bland, but in reality, you can be just as creative with this as you can with anything else. You can match it with your kitchen or even pick one that is your favorite color. Cutting boards provide a lot a value for many other reasons also such as:

  1. Protecting Countertops: Cutting boards protect kitchen countertops from scratches, stains, and damage that can occur when using knives directly on the surface. This helps prolong the lifespan of your countertops and keeps them looking new.

  2. Knife Preservation: Using a cutting board helps maintain the sharpness of your knives by providing a softer surface to cut on compared to hard countertops. This reduces wear and tear on the knife blade and extends the time between sharpening.

  3. Food Safety: Cutting boards with non-porous surfaces, such as plastic or composite materials, are easier to clean and sanitize, making them more resistant to bacteria buildup compared to wooden cutting boards. Proper cleaning and sanitizing of cutting boards after each use are crucial for preventing food borne illnesses.

  4. Versatility: Cutting boards come in various sizes, shapes, and materials, making them versatile tools in the kitchen. They can be used not only for cutting and chopping but also for serving food, kneading dough, and protecting delicate surfaces during meal preparation.

  5. Hygiene: Cutting boards provide a clean and safe surface for preparing food, preventing cross-contamination between different ingredients. Using separate cutting boards for raw meat, poultry, seafood, fruits, and vegetables helps reduce the risk of spreading harmful bacteria.

As you can see, cutting boards are much more essential in the kitchen than most would think. There is a lot of customization that can come into it and they can actually save you money in the long run. Everyone should have at least one of these in their kitchen or even make a fun day and create their own so it is something unique within their kitchen.
